The loved ones of teenagers missing after a tragic blaze at a bar in a Swiss ski resort are enduring an excruciating wait for answers and pleading for any details about their children online.

The inferno ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated footage reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are held aloft.

Authorities have stated that it could take an extended period to identify the victims of the fire, which claimed the lives of 40 people and hurt another over a hundred. Officials said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work still underway to identify the final individuals.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been using the internet to request information about their missing relatives who were in attendance that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For
