The former president's Family Member Receives Professional Tips from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
The rising star has substantial online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of well-known cheerleaders when she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns multiple courses worldwide and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He essentially told me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, Kai has competed in only three events recently and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
But she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, romantically involved with her mother.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's an even better human being. He told me to play, enjoy myself, following the flow."
She'll challenge some of top competitors in professional golf at the Annika, featuring world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, specifically among younger fans.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
