Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
